The Marlins are coming off a losing season in which the team had a record of 63-98. The team will be led once again this year by head coach Don Mattingly.
The Fish will have their work cut out for them this year. In case you forgot, the Red Sox won an impressive 108 games and went on to defeat the Los Angeles Dodgers in five games to win the World Series. The Red Sox are the early favorites to win it all again in 2019, according to the odds-aggregating site Oddschecker.com. Bookmakers are giving the boys from Fenway about a 13 to 15 percent chance of repeating as champions.
The Houston Astros and New York Yankees — both American League teams that reached the playoffs last year and also won at least 100 games — are the next favorites to win it all this year. Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Dodgers are the early favorites to win the championship out of the National League. Bookmakers put their odds at between 11 percent and 12 percent.
